Why intheOffice exists
For offices of 30 to 250+ people that work flexibly.
Jon Kent started intheOffice in June 2020, because of the thing that happens in every hybrid office: you commute in, and the people you came in to see are not there. It began as a way for a team to say which days they were in, and grew into the desk they sit at, the visitor at reception, and the list of who is in the building when the alarm goes.
Who builds it
intheOffice was nominated for Office Management Supplier of the Year in 2022, 2023 and 2024.

Jon Kent, Founder / CEO
Jon writes the software. He founded CloudCoding Limited in November 2011 and has built web applications ever since: Head of Product for ShopWorks and fastPAYE, Senior Product Manager at Salary Finance, and at Axis12 the lead on the Teacher Dashboard for Microsoft Office 365, which reached over 6 million users within three years. He came to software from law, by way of a paralegal job at Taylor Wessing and Norton Rose.
Support comes from the people who built intheOffice, led by the founder.

Adam Scorey (AJ), CMO
AJ has spent more than fifteen years in editorial and marketing, first editing specialist magazines and then in senior marketing roles at software companies and a professional services firm. He presents the podcast and the vlog with Jon.
What it is for
Making flexible working simple to organise, for the people who have to organise it.
Four questions run an office that is not full every day: who is in on Thursday, is there a desk for them, who is visiting, and who is in the building right now. intheOffice answers all four in one place, so the answers live somewhere other than a spreadsheet and a group chat.
It is built for the office managers, EAs, HR teams, IT teams and operations teams who carry that work, and for the people whose week it decides. That is why the first thing anyone does in intheOffice takes one click, and why every module can be switched on, and off again, by the office itself.
intheOffice is made in the UK by INTHEOFFICE LIMITED, registered in England and Wales, company number 13539107, and incorporated in July 2021.
What we hold ourselves to
- Flexibility. Software that fits the way an office already works, at any size, rather than a process everyone has to adopt.
- People first. Clear screens that explain themselves, because an office tool nobody can work out does not get used.
- Accessibility. It runs in a browser on any device, and as a tab in Microsoft Teams, so everyone in the office can reach it.
- Transparency. From £0.95 per person per month +VAT, with no contract and no card to start. You pay only for the days each person is on your account. You can see what it is costing before the invoice arrives.
